She is Samantha Ramsdell, an artist who (inadvertently) broke the record for the world’s largest mouth

When American Samantha Ramsdell decided to open a TikTok account, she never imagined that she would become the woman with ‘The biggest mouth in the world’ after catching the eye of the Guinness World Records.

Ramsdell knew from a young age that the size of her mouth was exceptional. Not just because she was teased at school but because she was the only one in her family who had a mouth worthy of a record.

TIKTOK: THE INITIAL BOOST

After posting some videos on the TikTok platform, Ramsdell began to generate interest among her followers, who encouraged her to measure the size of her mouth and see if she qualified for a world record.

The initial goal of her TikTok account was to boost her music career and talk about artistic themes. However, little by little she began to make some humorous videos where her mouth was the protagonist, specifically due to its large size.

Certainly, what for years before was an insecurity, was the impetus for her to become an internet celebrity. Her community of followers gradually grew and what started as a joke ended in a world record.

There is only one official judge of the organization who is able to verify the feat, so Samantha Ramsdell agreed to go to her local dentist’s office in South Norwalk, Connecticut, in the United States. What she did not know is that when she left the consultation she would go on to become the woman with the largest mouth in the world.

AS BIG AS AN APPLE

With an opening of 6.52 cm, the Ramsdell mouth is capable of inserting a portion of potato chips, three donuts or even an apple. It may sound insignificant to you, but the average opening for a person is 3 to 5 centimeters, or the equivalent of three fingers.

For the 31-year-old ‘tiktoker’, the size of her mouth went from being a source of shame to becoming a superpower of her own pride.

Now with more than a million and a half followers on TikTok, Ramsdell uses the medium to promote her career as a comedian. She even does duets with the male version of the record, Isaac Johnson.
